The Tamagotchi (たまごっち, IPA: tamaɡotꜜtɕi) is a handheld digital pet, created in Japan by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ and Aki Maita of Bandai.It was released by Bandai on November 23, 1996 in Japan and May 1, 1997 in the rest of the world, quickly becoming one. Nov 22, 2018 I’ve been collecting Tamagotchi’s since early this year and was super excited for these new releases! The glitter red shell is gorgeous and is a nice addition to the collection. While these rereleases aren’t quite as solid quality as the originals, it’s still a fun and very similar experience to the original 90’s gotchi’s.
